Pineapple Raspberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

Since moving to Colorado, one of the healthiest states in the USA, my eating habits, err, sugar cravings, have been magnified. Over the winter I started to make simple changes to my diet such as reaching for a piece of fruit instead of chocolate when the cravings come in tough (...you know, ladies...). It's too bad Mother Nature can't bring some fresh baked cookies with her when she visits. Wouldn't that be nice?

Lately, I've found that I'm naturally looking for lighter treats instead of heavy baked goods so I've been juicing and making lots of smoothies, particularly this pineapple raspberry banana smoothie. Who doesn't love a tropical drink served in a pineapple?

Magnificent Transformation

Do you ever feel like you take two steps forward, then a huge step backwards in life? I feel like I go through these seasons frequently. Throughout college, the summer and fall semesters would be my time to shine - my grades were great during these semesters, my health was on par, and my social life and personal development flourished. Then would come winter and the spring semester - my grades would always plummet, life would be out of balance, and let's not even talk about my health, let alone my emotional health during this season!

These seasons of growth and regression, I've found, show themselves outside of college, too. This spring season has been particularly difficult for me. The hotel I work for closed for construction and I was still employed, which is nice of my employer to keep me around. Except the work wasn't challenging. I sat in the office during my 8 hour shift and answered the phone when it rang. If it rang. I kept busy with mundane tasks. This type of work drains me in more ways than one and it started reflecting in the way I viewed myself and my place in this crazy world. Who am I? Why am I even in Vail...do I even really want to be here?

Utah's Mighty Five: Canyonlands National Park

After a long day of hiking and camping in Arches National Park,  we set out to visit Moab, Utah's second park - Canyonlands National Park. Since we were exhausted from Arches (our hiking stamina wasn't quite as good back in April as it is now), we decided to drive the scenic route and take as many of the scenic stops possible. Since Moab isn't too far away from Vail, we're hoping to return in the fall to hike Canyonlands!

Westside Market, Cleveland

A few weeks ago, I visited home to meet my newest nephew and spend some much needed time with my family. A pit stop to pick out some delicious treats at the historic Westside Market in the Ohio City district was absolutely necessary. Filled with fresh meat, local produce, and beautiful desserts, I can't help but be overwhelmed by the sights and scents of all the food!

Utah's Mighty Five: Arches National Park

Utah is home to five of the United States' National Parks: Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches. These are lovingly referred to as the "Mighty Five." Two of these parks are housed in Moab, Utah, a place like nothing I've ever seen before. It's a high desert area with plenty of space for  hiking, motor biking, camping, and other adventures. Moab quickly became one of my favorite places that I've been and I loved touring Arches and Canyonlands National Parks! I can't wait to spend more time in the parks and the area in the future.

May Purchases

The month of May was a great month for traveling and shopping while ringing in the spring season. I've been hunting down perfect sandals, dresses, and swimwear for the coming summer...now I just gotta wait for the Rocky Mountain weather to cooperate! We still have visible snow and you can still ski at one of the local resorts! Madness! Either way, I'm 100% prepared for warmer temperatures and sunshine all day, everyday!

While I was at home in Ohio, my mom gave me her $65 credit to DSW she received and a $10 coupon. I was able to find the black Steve Madden sandals and the gold Calvin Klein sandals on super sale and also picked up a cute tan cross body bag (I can't seem to find it on their online shop anywhere though). Now I'm all set for summer fun!

I don't normally shop at Forever 21, but I do really like their accessories section. I found this dainty tooth pendant necklace while shopping around Houston. While it is dainty, I've found that it adds just a touch of edge to any outfit.

You know on those monthly subscriptions there's normally a 'skip the month' option? Well, I typically utilize that every.single.month. I accidently forgot to hit that button on my ShoeDazzle subscription, and not wanting to call their customer service line (I love ShoeDazzle, but their customer service is horrendous) I just decided to stick it out and see if I could apply the $39.95 credit during a sale event. Low and behold, a few days later, I received a $20 off coupon in my inbox. I picked out the Jaf Weekender Bag (now sold out) and the Embroidered Cami Dress in navy. The weekender bag is larger than I expected but seems of good quality and I can't wait to take it on my next trip. I love the embroidery on the dress. I ordered it in size small and it seems to run a little big but it still works and fits well. I kind of want to order it in white now, too...

Over Memorial Day weekend, Adore Me had one of their buy one get one free sales and I just had to take advantage. I LOVE Adore Me. I  cannot express that enough. Since joining their subscription, my bra collection has multiplied but I don't even care. Their bras fit perfect, are comfortable, and are so stylish! I ordered Lucia Bra Set in red and the Fannie Swimsuit in lavender (previously purchased the Dana Swimsuit, which I LOVE).

All in all, I picked up 7 items for a little less than $120. Not too bad, I'd say!

What fun items did you pick up this past month?

With Love,
Ashliegh
