Drink Pink!

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence Central for mike's hard lemonade. I received product samples to facilitate my review. This post is designed for a 21+ audience. Please drink responsibly.

Relaxing is something I've never been good at doing. I'm always on the go and always doing something whether it's blogging, cleaning, working…you know...everything but relaxing. Every once in a while, I'll take some time to enjoy beautiful weather at the beach. With a good book. And pretty pink alcohol as an added bonus.

Mike's hard pink lemonade is the perfect lakeside (oceanside, poolside…wherever) drink. Using real lemons, both the zest and juice, Mikes Hard Lemonade Co. has been providing some of the best tasting beverages for 15 years.

October may bring chillier weather but these chilly drinks remind us that it's also a month to spread awareness of breast cancer. With the pretty pink color, mike's hard pink lemonade has been a seasonal flavor since 2009 in support of breast cancer research and has contributed more than $1 million is support of the cause. Cheers to that!

This pretty drink also makes the best drink for #MyMikesMoment with girlfriends! Just pour it into a few goblets (or these adorable DIY striped glasses) and add some fruit! Supporting a great cause while enjoying girlfriend time? What could be better?

Where would you have your #MyMikesMoment?

Relaxing at the Beach

“I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence Central for Ame & Lulu. I received product samples to facilitate my review.”

The weather has started to cool down significantly the past few weeks so when we had a "heat wave" come through earlier this week, I knew I wanted to spend some time at the local beach one last time. While it's no Caribbean Sea, Lake Erie is gorgeous and offers a nice place to just relax (though I'm not sure how chemically stable the water is, haha). While it's almost time to pack up the Jacks, this Ame & Lulu tote will definitely have it's fair share of appearances this season.

Summer 2014 Beauty Favorites

With yesterday marking the first official day of fall, it's time to say adios to summer 2014! Summer 2014 was one of my favorites with attending HerConference, meeting my favorite bloggers, hanging out with friends, traveling to Boston, and my sisters' weddings! Among all the excitement, my makeup collection has nearly tripled and I've gained some new favorites.

How To: Rockstar Ponytail

This post is sponsored by Global Influence Network on behalf of Tresemme.

Ever since I purchased this utility vest, I feel like my sense of style has gotten a little more edgy. This includes my overall look, too. i've been rocking a smokey eye more often and transform my hair from wearing it in its usual style. Typically, I either leave it down straight or use hot curlers to give it lots of volume and curl. Lately, I've been keeping the volume, but wearing my hair in a ponytail that parallels popular hairstyles on the red carpet.

My Rules for Life (+giveaway)

Cheers, Darlings!

// Dessert is always an option. What is dinner without it? Or why not just have dessert instead of dinner?

// If you want something, do whatever it takes to make it happen. Even if it means selling your beloved Kate Spade handbag. Thank you, future European Adventure.

// Be nice and do nice things for people.

// Write thank you notes. To everyone. For everything. For Anything. This one is important: write them to your professors at the end of every semester. Students rarely do this and professors appreciate it. Do this especially if you feel like you need a grade boost. I'm just sayin'. Works like a charm ;D

// #NoDrama. Consider the other person's perspective before arguing/blowing up on them. Lately, there's been too much drama going on in my life. Chill out or get out.

// Challenge yourself. Currently, I'm challenging myself to learn as much Italian as possible in the next 6 weeks. It's incredible what we can do when we set our minds to it!

// Make Wine Wednesdays a thing. You won't regret it. It's always nice to take time to relax and enjoy good company.

// Don't wait around for things to happen. Go out and make them happen.

// Get involved in something you're passionate about! Whether it's an organization, hobby, or profession, be fueled by passion!

// Make up hashtags for formal and informal events.

// I have 12 hours to mope around after a breakup. After those 12 hours, I better find something else to focus my attention on. Why waste time moping around when I could be happy?

// Always dress up. I tend to be over dressed 99% of the time.

// If people don't like you that's their problem, not yours. Be you and be authentic. Don't let them bring you down.

// Never drunk text boys. Just don't. I always text my girlfriends (or my little brother for some reason…) if I feel the desire to text.

// Make your bed every morning. Odd, I know, but since I've started doing this, my days are more productive and my mood is boosted!

// Take a chance and travel. Even if you can't afford it.

// High heels. High Standards. Pearls Everyday.

Now it's your turn to add on! What are your rules for life?

What's in my Bag? Fall 2014 Edition

Today's discussion is sponsored by Affinitas.

With the long hours I work this season, my purse has become a black hole for anything and everything so I can make it through the day.  You can often find an extra set of clothes, various snacks (and their empty wrappers), a bathing suit and probably a kitchen sink and lost kitten, too. Only kidding on the last two. Though I wish I had a kitten to carry around…

While the outfit changes daily and the bathing suit may be removed from the bag as the weather cools down (my workplace is right on a beach so I sometimes go hangout on the beach after hours), most of the base items in my purse stay the same. The main items are:

//Reading Book: Currently I'm reading Creativity, Inc. I actually got this book in my swag bag from HerConference. I've been reading it while on my lunch break.
//Wallet: Duh.
//Tic Tacs or gum: I'm all about that fresh breath. Especially if I'm talking to customers
//Umbrella: You never know when a storm may come rolling through off the lake! I was actually caught in a monsoon after work and forgot to pack my umbrella. I will never let that happen again!
//Phone: Again, duh.
//Makeup:  Rrecognize my current favorites from Younique and Neutrogena? While I don't have to worry about touching up my makeup most of the time, sometimes it's just nice to have for just incase or if I want to reapply while I'm running to happy hour.
//Notebook & Planner: I write everything down. You never know when a blog idea will hit ya or you remember something for the to do list.
//Affinitas Cupcake Panty: With long hours at work, sometimes I just want a complete change when I change out of my uniform and into street clothes. The adorable cupcake packaging hides underwear inside. It's great for when my bag accidentally tips and spills at the office; no one knows what's hidden inside! The underwear comes in hipster or thongs and they're perfect for on the go.

Affinitas is currently holding a scholarship sweepstakes and giving away a $1000 scholarship and a "Super Bakers Dozen" (16 cupcake panties)! To enter, simply go to to complete the registration form and complete the instructions.

Healthy Snacking: Popcorn Recipes

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SkinnyGirlSnacks #CollectiveBias

Throughout college, popcorn was always a go to snacking option. I kept it well stocked in my dorm room and now that I'm in the post-grad world, it continues to appear in my cabinet. One thing about popcorn is that the bags are large enough to share with friends, but way too much for just one person to eat.  Thankfully, Skinnygirl just released their new mini bag popcorn!

With the transition from college to post-grad life also comes the loss of the Rec Center and dining hall. I lucked out at Ashland University because our dining hall always had healthy options and a state-of-the-art rec center. I want to maintain my weight (post-grad 15 exists, too, people!) by snacking healthy. I love that the new Skinnygirl popcorn allows me to indulge in a favorite snack but without the guilt!

These snack size bags of popcorn are only 25 calories each, contains no artificial colors, sweeteners, flavors or high fructose corn syrup. These found-at-Walmart mini bags of popcorn come in interesting flavor options like Lime & Salt and a classic Butter & Sea Salt blend, too! I recently had some fun trying to remix my popcorn to prevent a rutt in my health options and created two fun popcorn recipes: Lime-Taco flavored popcorn and Pumpkin Spice flavored popcorn, just in time for the fall season.

If you're looking for something zesty with a little bit of heat this will be perfect for you. I placed a bag of Skinnygirl Popcorn in Lime & Salt in the microwave for the recommended time on the bag. Once the popcorn was popped, I poured 1/2 tablespoon of taco mix and 1/2 tablespoon of chili mix into the bag. Shake it all up until popcorn is covered and enjoy! Easy peasy!

With the recent release of Starbuck's popular Pumpkin Spice Latte, I was inspired to create a spin off on the popcorn. I just placed a bag of the popcorn in the microwave for the recommended time. Once it was all popped, I but 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice mix into the bag. Again, I shook it all up until the popcorn was covered! Enjoy!

I found the new Skinnygirl popcorn in the popcorn and soda aisle at my local Walmart!

How do you remix your popcorn?

Younique Beauty Review

Earlier this week I reviewed Younique's 3D Fiber Lash Mascara and loved it. My consultant, Jamie, also sent me a wide variety of their products to review, too! What I love about Younique is that their products are made cruelty free and many are all natural.

I loved the cosmetic bag that they arrived in and the timing couldn't have been more perfect because I needed a larger cosmetic bag like this one. She also sent me two Mineral Touch cream foundations in Organza and Taffeta, two mineral eyeshadow pigments in Sassy and Regal, Mineral Blusher in Stunning, and Lucrative Lip Gloss in Luxe.

I'll start with the mineral touch foundations. Jamie sent me two in shades Organza and Taffeta. Tafetta is a touch too dark for my porcelain skin but Organza is perfect. This is a lightweight formula that has a medium coverage and leaves a dewy (not oily) finish. I love that my skin can skill breathe when I wear this foundation! Lately, I've been wearing it a lot to work. With the long hours, I want something that lasts a long time while also not feeling caked on. I like that the compact has a plastic separator so I can keep the sponge separate from the makeup. It also keeps the cream laying flat so I can get an even coverage on the sponge and applied to my face. For the $32 price tag, I will probably be reordering this foundation simply because I haven't found a drugstore foundation that has this sort of finish and formula!

The eyeshadow pigments are very colorful and pigmented. Jamie sent me shades Sassy (left) and Regal (right). These weren't my favorite simply because I'm more of a matte brown eyeshadow kind of girl rather than a colorful and shimmery type. I do like how pigmented and blendable these shadows are. I'm going to give these a try while I'm out with friends this weekend and see if I'll be more into trying out colorful looks. These are $10 each.

I love love love this shade of blush (Stunning). The pigmentation is beautiful and the formula is blendable and leaves a pretty flush. I really wish this came in a pressed powder rather than a loose powder though. There is a lot of blush included and a little bit goes a long way. I know this will last me a long time! The blushes are $29 each.

Along with the foundation and mascara, this lipgloss is one of my favorite products from Younique! It has a non-greasy formula that stays put and lasts for HOURS. I received this in the beautiful Luxe shade which is a pink-nude color. It's gorgeous and great for going out or even a daytime look. I love that the packaging includes a mirror on the product. Makes application so easy when you don't want to wait in line at the ladies room. These are $15 each and I'll probably order another one soon!

Currently, Jamie is looking for ladies to join her Younique Team! They are currently signing presenters in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. This would be a great way to make some extra cash while you're in school or as a fun job! You can contact Jamie by messaging her on her Facebook page or join her Facebook group, where you'll also find lots of great deals and promotions!

Life Update

Life has been pretty crazy lately and I'm really missing blog time! In the past two weeks, I moved a few hours from home and took a job in the hospitality industry. I am absolutely loving my job thus far! I love that I am able to interact with people all the time and ensure that their vacation is the vacation of their dreams.

While I love my job, the hours are CRAZY. I work 40-60 hours on the weekends and then have a few weekdays off. This causes a dilemma for me. I want to keep up with my blog but I want to just relax and sleep on my days off. Mind you, it's only been two weeks  but I'm finally getting the hang of it and hope to be back to blogging 5 days a week next week.

Hanging out with new friends after hours
I've also made lots of new friends, especially my co-workers. They're some of the most interesting people I've ever met. Many of them are international workers so I love hearing about their stories abroad and experiences from their homelands. It just deepens my wanderlust desires!

Speaking of wanderlust, I think I have created my "plan." My contract is up with my current place of employment in November (it's just a temporary job). I'm currently in contact with a few families to be an au pair (fingers crossed for Italy!). Once I complete my term as an au pair, I hope to backpack through Europe, solo.

This whole plan is completely terrifying but so completely exciting! I'm ecstatic for all the adventures to come. The other good thing about my job and befriending international workers is knowing I'll have a place to stay when I visit certain regions!

Well enough about me, tell me what's been going on in your life! I miss you darlings!

Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara Review

Darlings, you should know by now that I am a sucker for mascara. I've been seeing Younique's 3D Fiber Lashes all over Instagram and Pinterst lately so when my new friend Jamie reached out to me about reviewing some Younique products, you better believed I jumped at the opportunity! Jamie was kind enough to send me a whole goody bag of fun products to review but today, I'm going to focus on my favorite - the 3D Lash Mascara!

Firstly, the packaging is gorgeous! I love that Younique spoils it's customers with beautiful, quality packaging. I don't know of any other mascaras that come with a case, especially one that reminds me of the classic Chanel quilting. The transplanting gel brush is very much a regular mascara wand that has a slight hourglass shape. The fiber wand is like a fuzzy mascara wand.

Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara is applied in three steps. First apply the transplanting gel to lashes, then apply the fibers, and then again the transplanting gel to seal the deal. My first application was a bit messy but once I got the hang out how to use this power duo, magic happened, as you can see below.

When just the transplanting gel and fibers are used, it gives a great everyday look, but if I want even more vavavoom, I use another mascara first, then place the transplanting gel and fibers on top. I recently wore this mascara out on the town (say hello to this SnapChat beaut, haha)!

Overall, I L.O.V.E. this mascara and will definitely be ordering again. It's 100% worth the $29 price tag. It gave my lashes tons of volume and beautiful length and I wish I had this mascara back in the spring when I was competing in Miss Ohio preliminaries!

From Desk to Drinks

While I'm stuck in a uniform at my hospitality job, I've always been jealous of Alicia Tenise's fun work style. Whether she is at her office desk, happy hour, a party, or hanging out, she always manages to look incredibly stylish and classy. I kind of really wish we lived closer so I could raid her closet!

Hello, Darlings! My name is Alicia and I am a life and style blogger over at Alicia Tenise. I am super excited to be guest posting today on Ashliegh's fabulous blog! I knew that I had to share my sense of style with Ashliegh's readers. My outfit posts are the most fun for me to create!

I graduated from college last May, and transitioning from college to the real world was quite the change! I got a desk job and found myself going straight from the office to happy hour. I didn't have enough time to completely change my outfit, so I packed a few key accessories to take my work ensemble from desk to drinks!

Here are a few tips and tricks on how to transition from work to play with ease!

  • Layer a jacket or a blazer over your ensemble during the day to make your ensemble more office appropriate.
  • Swap out your large work tote for a sleek clutch at happy hour.
  • Ditch the commuter flats at happy hour and opt for a statement heel.
  • Lipstick will instantly amp up your look -- swipe on a bright color after work for the perfect finishing touch!
That's it! A super simple, 4-step method to take you from day to night.

Thanks everyone! Make sure to check out my blog, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to keep up with all of my post-grad fashion adventures!

Greetings From Around the World

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #KidsCards #ValueCards #CollectiveBias

One of the most difficult parts of transitioning from college to the "real world" is not having my best friends around me all. the. time. How do they expect you to go seeing these people everyday - relying on them, eating with them, and enjoying each other's company - to seeing them maybe once every few months…or even few years?! Two of my very best friends are packing up everything they own and moving across the world to teach abroad. I'm so proud of them for doing something so gutsy and hopefully, I'll be joining them on another continent soon! While I'm missing them from the states, I definitely don't want our friendship to disappear. I've already picked out the first of many greeting cards to be sent to them!

I won't say who is receiving which card (they're probably reading this post ;p), but the one's I picked are pretty darn adorable and I think perfect for the intended audience. On the inside of the card, the floral card miss you card states, "Though we may be miles apart, we're just as near as ever, because such happy thoughts will keep up close together." The other card says "You're cute, you're fun, you're lovable, in fact, there's one thing your not…" Then, on the inside it says "here!" I also wrote them a handwritten letter that I slip inside the card, just so it's more personal.

I picked these two Hallmark Value Cards up from my local Walmart. The great thing about this is that all of these cards are extremely adorable and only cost 97 cents or 47 cents! You can also earn rewards for the Hallmark cards you purchase at Walmart. For every 5 cards you buy, you'll earn a reward!
