Day to Night: Pleated Maxi Dress

When I purchased this mint pleated maxi dress at the beginning of summer, I had no idea how to wear it! Little did I know it would be so versatile with many of the other pieces in my wardrobe. The maxi itself looks dressy so I'm constantly trying to find ways to make it daytime appropriate. Throwing a sleeveless chambray shirt over top was the easiest way to do so. It also made it easy to transform into a night look with just a scarf and quick change of jewelry.

For the daytime look I layered a sleeveless polka dot chambray on top. I paired this outfit with a light pink beaded statement necklace and my Jack Rogers. You might recognize this look from my #BloggersTakeBoston meet up

Dress: Macys // Chambray: Old // Necklace: Charlotte russe (old) // Sandals: Jack Rogers // Bag: Michael Kors

For the night look, I swapped out the chambray for this pretty chiffon floral scarf. I added a tassel necklace and a few bangles. Wedges were great for adding some height. I wore this outfit to an evening wedding at a vineyard.

Dress: Macys // Scarf: Target // Necklace: ℅ Armed & Readi // Sandals: Old

How would you style this dress? I'd love to hear your styling ideas in the comments!

With Love,
Ashliegh

  1. Ooh I love that first style, what a great way to make that maxi daytime ready. Although I gotta be honest, it's a miracle whenever I make it into any nice clothes that aren't gym clothes, let alone a dress! You look great Xx.

  15. For day, I would layer this polka dot print tee with a skinny belt. For night, I'd probably add a crushed red velvet jacket I have. I tend to have a bit of a wilder style.
