Do you ever plan for a big event, like a vacation, but a bunch of other events pop up around the same time? I feel like this happens to me all too frequently. 10 days ago, not only did I pack for vacation in Boston, but also had to pack for a wedding and Shane's #OHBlogger Meet Up, all of which require me to have silky smooth legs. Additionally, I had to pack a month's worth of clothing and such as I'll be in Ohio helping my mom prepare for my sister's wedding after the Boston vacation.
With all the packing that had to be done, things were bound to be left behind and forgotten. Half way through the road trip from West Virginia to Ohio I realized I forgot to paint my nails and toes, and to make matters even worse I also left my nail polish collection back in the good ol' mountain state. I thought to myself, "it's ok, no one will notice…" I then realized I also forgot to shave during my pre-road-trip shower…and left my razor hanging in the shower. While I could get away with prickly legs for the wedding, I had to have silky smooth legs for vacation. Halfway through the road trip, I made Christian take a detour to the nearest Target.
Christian gave me 10 minutes to quickly grab everything I needed. After sprinting around the store, I grabbed my shower time favorites: Schlick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care® razor and Skintimate® Skin Therapy Sensitive Skin shaving gel. The wedding was outdoors so I also picked up Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen for good measure. Not only will this keep the sun's rays from burning my porcelain skin, but it also smells fantastic!
Since I was already in the beauty beacon, I figured I might as well pick out a nail polish. Well, I didn't just grab one polish. I practically emptied out Target's Sally Hansen inventory and took home three polishes, a top coat, cuticle oil, nail file, clippers, and a nail art kit. Go big or go home, right? There wasn't even an option to resist all the pretty colors!
Complete Salon Manicure Polishes: "Mojito," "Lady Lavender," and "At First Blush"
Once I arrived at our final destination, I gave my nails a pretty makeover inspired by one of my favorite trends - scallops! Sally Hansen's products made this design so simple. I thought about doing the scallop design on all of my nails, but wanted a more subtle nail look for the wedding. I only painted the accent nail with this design.
Start off with completely clean nails. I painted two coats of Sally Hansen Salon Complete Manicure in "At First Blush," allowing it to dry completely between coats. The great thing about these polishes is that the formula includes a base coat, top coat, and dries fairly quickly!
Once the paint was completely dry, I carefully applied the scallop stencil from Sally Hansen's I love Nail Art Tool Kit. After the stencil was secure, I painted Sally Hansen Salon Complete Manicure in "Lady Lavender"above the stencil.
After the polish was dry, I carefully removed the stencil. I placed a drop of Sally Hansen Salon Complete Manicure in "Mojito" on a piece of paper. I then used the stripling brush to outline the scallops with the beautiful pastel green shade.
To complete the look, I used Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat. Matte seems to be having a moment in the beauty world, so why not on my nails too?! I think this nail design looked great with my wedding attire.
