I've never been the type to sign up for those subscription boxes but I have been intrigued by Ipsy. There's something about watching YouTube video tutorials and reading beauty blogs that got me antsy about trying Ipsy for myself. It's a pretty good deal - at only $10 you typically receive 4-6 beauty products. After what seemed like years (it was only a few weeks) the June "Pretty in Paradise" bag arrived in my mailbox. I could not have received a better bag to review as my first bag!
Firstly, how adorable is this bag?! It's designed by Rebecca Minkoff and so on trend with the pineapple fabric. Is it just me, or are pineapples everywhere this season? It's a good quality bag and the perfect size to carry around in my purse.
Here are the products included in my bag:
Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara, Full Size $15 - I hoard mascara like it's my job. It's my all-time favorite beauty product and I will go to great lengths to find the perfect mascara. I love that I received a full size of this product rather than a smaller sample; it makes me excited for future full seize products that I'll receive in future Ipsy bags. With that said, this mascara is far from perfect. It has a strong and strange scent, like paint thinner or burning rubber. The quality is not that great either. I experienced some pretty horrendous clumped spider-lashes. It definitely doesn't live up to its namesake.
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray, Full Size $9, Sample Size $3.25 - I haven't been able to try this product yet but it smells amazing! I have a different sea salt spray sample that I want to finish up before I start on this one!
NYX Butter Gloss, Creme Brûlée, Full Size $5 - I had bought this gloss in the Tiramasu shade in May. It was my first experience with NYX and since that first gloss, I've been hooked. I was so excited to pull this gloss in shade "Creme Brûlée" out of my bag! It's a great pink-nude color and goes on so buttery smooth. It's not sticky and I love the vanilla scent.
Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil, Full Size $13 - After mascara, I would say my second beauty love is a good eyebrow pencil. I haven't tried this one out quite yet but I did swatch it and it looks a bit dark. I'll give it a try sometime this week but I might end up using this on my sister Amiee for her wedding make up. She has darker brown hair and beautiful tan skin which might complement this eyebrow pencil more than my blonde hair and porcelain skin.
RealTree For Her Perfume, Full Size $25 - While I'm obsessed with ensuring I smell good, I am definitely not a perfume person. I find a scent that I like and I stick to that scent. This perfume may be a game changer! It's a floral scent that just smells like summer to me.
