With graduation in less than 100 days, I'm in need of a real suit! Yesterday, I had a presentation for my Business Communications class where we had to wear a suit. After shopping in a nearby town, I've determined there was not a single suit within a 50 mile radius of my college. I quickly ran to Target and picked up this classy blazer (God bless Target!) which I paired with an old pencil skirt.

Later in the evening, I had another presentation to give, oy. Thankfully, this one was less formal so I could rock black skinny jeans and get away with it. After class I had a recruitment party for my sorority so this was the perfectly polished look and it made for an easy transition from the suit! The second look was inspired by this image that I found on Pinterest!

As for suits, I've been looking online for inspiration. Black suits just really aren't me so I would love to have a blue, or even white, suit! Here are two that I found at Macy's that I love!

Which suit do you like better?

With Love,
Ashliegh

  1. So, so, so cute! I wish my job was more professional sometimes so I could wear blazers and high heels!

  2. I prefer the blue suit because you can wear it year round. I like grey for suits because it's very neutral, you can easily wear it with navy or black, and it's a conservative choice which is important for interview suits or other important things. In December, I blogged about what to wear to interviews http://exileinvacationland.blogspot.com/2013/12/interview-attire.html

  4. Love both outfits - I have a black blazer I'm obsessed with, but not enough business clothing! I'm a Journalism major so i can show up to presentations in leggings or jeans, but my chapter every week is always super formal and I'm always struggling to find an outfit! I need to get the filler pieces that I can mix and match to get the most without spending a lot!
P.S. I'm obsessed with that tassel necklace!

  5. Looking chic and professional! Love your outfit! Oh, and I prefer that white suite... I'm such a sucker for winter white, which is unfortunate because I'm also prone to spilling dark liquids. Happy Wednesday!

  8. I was in the same boat finding a suit that worked for me seemed impossible. I loved the outfit that you wore for your presentations. A great place to look is New York and Company, stylish and when they have sells reasonably priced

  10. The blue suit would be so versatile. I would wear the jacket with jeans or the skirt with a neutral sweater.
