The Very Last First Day of School!

An awful picture, I know. Ya'll want to see more OOTD's this year so this will do until I get a better camera than my iPhone!
Scarf: Amazon
Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger (on sale now for $17.99!)
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: ShoeDazzle
Bow Bracelet: Oh So Bow Bracelets
Chain Bracelet: Armed & Readi c/o

I can't believe today was my very last first day of school! College has been a crazy, stressful, and yet fun four years. It's wild to think that I will be graduating in 16 weeks. Uhh, what?

You know those silly introduction exercises that professors have you do on the first day of classes? "Please tell me your name, where you're from, your class, and your major!" As soon as my professors learn any of the students are a senior they automatically ask, "Are you graduating in May? What are your plans?"

I feel like all my classmates have their lives together already! Everyone knows what they want to do and where they want to do it. Meanwhile, I'm over here like, "I like pizza and run a blog!"

I just have so many interests and it's hard for me to narrow it down to one thing I want to do for the rest of my life. I love the idea of having my own business. I really enjoy writing, event planning, and marketing. I also love learning new skills on my own like teaching myself HTML. Good news is, I have 16 weeks to figure it all out.

Any advice for soon-to-be graduates starting their job search?

With Love,
Ashliegh

P.S. Anyone in the Northeast Ohio area looking to build their photography portfolio? This whole iPhone camera isn't really working too well for me here...

  6. As a recent College Grad (May 2013) let me tell you that everyones favorite question for you is "What are you doing once you graduate?" I'd cringe every time someone asked me. Even if you don't know, don't be concerned. I graduated college with a BA in International Affairs and now I am going to Nursing School. Over time you will figure out exactly what you want to do. It sounds like you already know what you like though and that's awesome!

As far as advice for job searching, I'd say start now. See what is out there. Look into companies you'd like to work for and see what they are looking for. Maybe you can set up an internship with them now that could lead into a job after graduation. Don't stress if you can't get a job immediately after you graduate, most people do not. A lot of jobs are based on connections, so make sure you use any and all connections to your advantage! It's easy to worry about unemployment, but just know that everything will work out how it should in the end!

Enjoy your last semester! It will fly by!

  8. Where do you go to school? I'm in Columbus and graduated from OSU last May..my only advice is to definitely take advantage of ANY networking opportunity, as much as I hate to say this, it really is all about who you know!

  10. Great outfit!! My advice is... don't give up, trust your instincts, and don't automatically assume the first job offer you get is the right fit. During interviews, ask really good questions to get to know the culture and make sure it's a good fit.

And when you do accept a job, know that it is just your first job, not where you will spend the rest of your life. Also, know that you aren't defined by your job or your career. I read a really great article about this recently that opened my eyes about how I was feeling about my career. If you need any other advice, don't hesitate to ask me! I just graduated last May so it's still very fresh in my memory :)

  11. Congrats! And awesome last first outfit! Enjoy these last 16 weeks! I graduated over a year and a half ago, and I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do! I'm like you and have so many interests. I think the best thing to do is find a job that has to do with at least one of the things you're interested in pursuing. It's so weird, because everything you just named, I'm interested in doing too - writing, event planning, and marketing. I actually get to do all of that with the job I have now. I work as a sales coordinator at a hotel. I share an office with the director of events and catering, and some days, it's like I'm his assistant. Then of course, as any salesperson, I have to market my hotel. I do that on social media, so I actually dabble into all three of those things. Don't get discouraged if you don't find your ideal job right after you graduate! If there's a will, there's a way, and I have a feeling, you're going to figure it all out in due time!

  12. First off I just wanted to say that I found you from one of the blog hops, and seen this post, and thought to myself, "I can totally relate to this girl!" (I am also graduating in May, and taking classes at the end of May).

Can I ask you what you are going to school for? I am going to school for business management, and my dream is to have my own online fashion boutique, and someday a physical store.

My advice for job searching is that you can start with friends and family, and your current job along with your schools job posting website.

My school offers a great website with tools to search potential job careers that match up to my interests and major.

Else for now, I think you're doing a great job getting readers etc, (well you did get me to stop and write this ever so long comment) So keep on doing what you are doing and also look for another job in the mean time = )

    Best of luck,
    Christina from CLK Fashions ♥

P.S I am hosting my first-EVER giveaway (I am excited as you can tell), you can find it on my blog : HERE
