A Look Inside: My Bedroom

After doing some early spring cleaning (what else are you supposed to do when trapped inside by the cold weather?) I thought it was high time I finally show you around my apartment, starting with my bedroom. While I really wanted a black/white/gold/pink theme, my bedroom is basically just white walls and tan furniture. There's not a whole lot going on in the decor but for a college apartment, I'm afraid I lack the funds and interior design skills. Once I get a "big girl job" and have a salary to decorate with, maybe then I'll have my pink/black/white/gold bedroom.

This weekend I'll be participating in the Blogger Breakfast in Bed event put together by Prep In Your Step! She put together a series of questions for all the participants to answer. I also want to open the floor to you to ask any questions for Saturday's post! Seriously, ask me anything about me, blogging, college, sorority life, fashion, beauty-related whatever! Leave your questions in the comments or email me at!

This is my bed, obviously. I love traveling so I surrounded this area with panoramic photos of London and Paris. The bedside table is actually a decorative suitcase with stickers from all over the world. I always find myself thirsty before I go to bed and when I wake up so I always have a water bottle (or two) on the "table."

Here is where I get ready every morning. The top drawer of the dresser is dedicated to make up and hair stuff galore! While I do not claim to be an organized person (having a planner and editorial calendar is about as far as that goes) I do keep my lip glosses and lipsticks separate from the rest of the make up. The teacup was given to me by Christian's mom. Isn't it the cutest teacup ever!?

These little nooks are all over the house! I think they are the most charming detail of the house. I was not quite sure what to display in the one in my room at first but then decided it would be the perfect place to showcase my growing nail polish collection! Rachael and I made these glitter champagne flutes a while ago. The candle is from my post-lavaliere candle-lighting ceremony (I'm a Phi Kappa Psi Sweetheart. I don't know if I've said that on this blog previously...).

Finally, my closet. The left side holds coats, blazers, skirts, and pants. The right side holds button-ups, blouses, and cardigans. I also keep my jewelry in a hanging jewelry organizer that I found at Marshall's and extra make up and beauty products hang in a Mary Kay Travel Roll Up bag.

There's my bedroom in a nutshell! I'm not going to lie to you, this is the cleanest I've ever seen it. Organization is just not my thing outside keeping a planner and editorial calendar. Check out the behind the scenes on instagram! Just wait until you see my "office." Oy.

Any advice on jazzing the space up a bit?

With Love,

  1. Your room looks so clean omg. I've never seen it that clean in my life!!

    1. HAHAHAHA That's cause I'm trying this new thing this year where I try to keep my room clean. Or at least make my bed considering I had to hide all my laundry for this "photo shoot." They know now i'm not organized at all!

    2. lol rach!!!! I love your nail polish area!

  2. I love that you said you had to hide all of your laundry for the photo shoot. That's totally what I would have to do right now. My room is a DISASTER! I blame it on the tiny closet we have. Cute room.

  3. Very cool I love seeing how bloggers live

  4. I love the glass jar for your makeup and the canvas prints?

  5. That little nook is so cute! I also love the container you keep your lip stuff in. It's definitely cleaner than my college apartment room ever was! I'll have to post a photo sometime... it's pretty hilarious.

  6. I have one of those hanging jewelry organizers too. Aren't they the best? I could never find ANYTHING before I got that thing :)

  7. Just found your adorable blog and I'm so excited to be your newest follower! :) I'm totally with you on the whole "college budget, can't really decorate" thing. Even down to the exact same color scheme!

  8. Thanks for the sneak peek into your room! I love posts like this, but my room is way too cluttered to ever be presentable for a post. The little nook you chose for your nail polish is the perfect spot for that! I want a nail polish nook!!
