What I Wore: Pageant Review

As you know, I competed in a pageant this past weekend!

I started competing in pageants when I was 15 and they completely changed my life for the better. In high school I was incredibly quiet and shy and was terrified of even the idea of public speaking. During my first pageant, I actually froze up on stage for a good 90 seconds before answering my onstage question. I obviously did not win that first pageant but I worked hard and opened myself up to public speaking opportunities, came back two years later and won the crown!

Now I compete in the Miss Ohio America Organization and I love it. The opportunities it has given me to develop myself further through bettering my professional interview, being dedicated to a service platform and talent, maintaining physical fitness through swimsuit and developing a presence through evening gown. I know I won't be at Miss Ohio this year, but my goal is to be at Miss Ohio in 2014.

Anyways, on to the wardrobe!

For interview I wore the eShakti dress with my hair up, you can view that post here.

Pink and Blue

Button Up: Old
Dress: H&M
Shoes: I got these while I was in Costa Rica

The weather Ohio is having is absolutely beautiful! High's of the upper 30's and sunshine all day long! I felt a little crazy breaking out the sundress this early but I just couldn't help it! Waking up to the bright sun that I haven't seen in months was just such a surprise! I love this outfit and I can't wait to break out more sundresses as the weather warms up!

What I Wore: Sorority Chapter Meeting

Top: Burlington Coat Factory
Pants: JCrew
Heels: Forever 21
Belt: Old

This weekend was fun filled with Miss Mansfield on Saturday and my sorority's semesterly scholarship banquet! Miss Mansfield was a wonderful experience and I'll show some photos of my outfits and more about my experience later this week! At the scholarship banquet, I received the Most Improved GPA reward! Spring semester 2012 was rough for me and I worked really hard this past fall semester to give my GPA a much needed boost. As a reward for my hardwork, our chapter's Director of Scholarship gave me this adorable pillow:

Pillow can be bought here

Isn't it just the cutest thing!? The photo on the front can be replaced with another photo making it unique! I just love it! Hard work definitely pays off!

How was your weekend?!

Dress: eShakti
Shoes: Charming Charlies / Borrowed from a Sorority Sister
Earrings: Forever 21

Ladies, you NEED to check out this online shop. It's incredible. I can't even believe my eyes. It's called eShakti and anything you order from them you can get customized specifically to you...FOR FREE! From embroidery and accents to neckline and length cuts, you get your item specifically designed to your preference!

They sent me this dress that I wore to my formal chapter meeting this evening and all my sisters raved about how well it fit and how polished I looked. I plan on wearing this dress for my Miss Mansfield interview next week!

The dress fits me absolutely perfectly and the quality is superb! I know this dress will last me for years to come! This dress fits me better than the dresses I've had professionally tailored!

And if you register on their site now, you get $25 off your first order! Say what?!?

So go and check eShakti out! They just released their spring line and I want all of their dresses! They're so pretty and feminine!

What I Wore: Date Night

This is the outfit I wore out for a Valentine's Day date with the boyfriend! Just your typical dinner and a movie date. We saw Silver Lining Playbook which was a great movie, but very emotional. During some of the parts I was getting anxious, haha!

How To Wear Sorority Letters: Tee Shirt Edition

Letters: Custom Made at some Greek Letter making place
Jeans: American Eagle
Scarf: American Eagle
Heels: Forever 21

Every Friday, my Alpha Phi sisters and I wear letters and we call Fridays, Phi Fridays as a social media and campus marketing tool. Instead of just wearing my letters, I wanted to dress them up a bit! Wear just a tee shirt or a hoodie can get monotonous.

Today I wore my letters with my favorite skinny jeans, a pair of nude heels and threw on a fun scarf!

Other ways to wear your stitched letter tee shirts:
With a skirt

Emerald Skinny Jeans

Blazer: Old
Top: Old
Jeans: Borrowed from a Sorority Sister
Boots: Urbanog

So, in case you haven't heard, emerald is the color of 2013 and one of my favorite colors! I'm not quite sure how I feel about this blazer, I love the stripes and three-quarter sleeves but the fit is kinda off. I guess that's what I get when I spend $5 on a blazer, haha.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tribal Skirt

Cardigan: Old
Tee: Old
Skirt: Macy's
Leggings: Gift
Boots: Old

I'm procrastinating taking a quick study break. I picked up this skirt this past weekend at Macy's. A few of my girlfriends and I went shopping and we saw these skirts and had to get them! (They were on sale for $5, plus an addition 20% off for wearing our red dress pins! They were basically free.) All three of us ended up buying them so now we have to schedule which day which of us wears them so we don't end up looking like triplets running around campus, haha!

Study Hall Chic

Button Up: Burlington Coat Factory / Tommy Hilfiger
Sweater: Old
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bandolino
Necklace: Old

I'm drowning in homework as it's coming to that point in the semester where professors are starting to load on the work and midterms will be coming up pretty quickly here at the end of the month!

I think I like this outfit much more than the white sweater/blue button up combo! I love the combination of red and black; it's such an elegant duo!

What is your favorite color combination?

Pinterest Inspired: Black, White, and Cobalt Blue

Pinterest Inspiration:
Found here

I fell in love with this photo on Pinterest the other day and decided to do my take on the outfit! (Thanks to some inspiration from Shaeffer from Pinterest Told Me To...). Of course, it is absolutely freezing here in Ohio so shorts weren't gonna cut it. Even with tights. Just not gonna happen, so I replaced the shorts with my favorite pair of jeans! I'll probably remix this outfit again with a pair of shorts or skirt later in the spring or summer. Here's my take!

Blazer: Macy's
Button Up: Old
Jeans: Express
Boots: Old
Belt: Old
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Watch: Charming Charlie's

Have you recreated any outfits that you found on Pinterest? Share them with me in a comment! I'd love to see them!

Leopard and Peach Polka Dots

Button Up: Burlington Coat Factory
Leopard Top: Express
Belt: Old
Jeans: American Eagle
Scarf: Borrowed from a Sorority Sister
Boots: Old

So as you can see here, I am sick of dorm room photos and risked losing my limbs in the freezing tundra that is Ohio!

I am surprised by how much I like the way leopard and peach look together! I'm not a huge fan of the button up with this outfit...What would you wear instead?

National Wear Red Day!

Aren't my Alpha Phi sisters adorable?! This is Megan and Sheridan, a few of my suite mates.

Cardigan: Borrowed from a Sorority Sister

Pants: Forever 21
Shoes: Old
Watch: Fossil/Macy's

Today's the day! National Wear Red Day to support women's heart health! Join Alpha Phi's every where as we support this cause!

Did you know heart disease is the #1 killer of women? So make sure to get in that cardio 3-4 times a week ;]

Women's Heart Health is an important aspect of of the Alpha Phi sorority, as it is part of our philanthropy. The red dress is a symbol of women's heart health and Alpha Phi has red dress pins with our letters on them. I'm wearing it today on the cardigan and you can see a close up from a recent post here.

Are you wearing red today?
