What's Your Personality Type?

I don't know about you, but I love taking personality tests and the Myers Briggs test is no exception! I take it about once a year to see if I am consistent or even growing. Yesterday, my blog feed was filled with posts about personality types for Blogtember and figured I would join in, even if a day late!

The personality test they recommended for the challenge can be found here and I encourage you to take it. I thought it was pretty spot on! When I took the Myers Briggs test last year, I was an ENTJ and after taking the personality test today, I am still an ENTJ.

ENTJ's are often described as "The Executive" with natural leadership abilities. A few excerpts about this personality type:

"ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshall and direct. This may be expressed with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader. The ENTJ requires little encouragement to make a plan." (here)
I thought this opening statement for the description was funny, and also a tad true. Depending on the project and environment at hand, I know I can be a charming leader or slightly insensitive (not necessarily to the extent they describe it as though). It really depends on the situation at hand and the people I am working with.

"ENTJs are natural born leaders. They live in a world of possibilities where they see all sorts challenges to be surmounted, and they want to be the ones responsible for surmounting them. They have a drive for leadership...They are "take charge" people. ENTJs are very career-focused, and fit into the corporate world quite naturally. They are constantly scanning their environment for potential problems which they can turn into solutions." (here)

As I read this to Christian, he said, "It's so true, it's creepy!" I would definitely say I am one to take charge and many of my peers know that if you need something done, you talk to me.

Speaking of the boy, I made him take the test as well! He is an ENFJ and it describes him pretty darn well, too!

A good personality test helps us discover little pieces of ourselves that we might not have been able to recognize before, whether it's strengths or weaknesses. I love having it down in words who I am and it's comforting to know there are people with similar traits.

What is your personality type?

With Love,
Ashliegh

  1. I have never taken a personality test, but you've inspired me too. I think it will be fun to see what it has to say. I have a feeling I will be an ENTJ too, since that pretty much describes me. :) The head graphics are cute too!

  2. I am an ESFJ. Extroverted Sensing Feeling Judging. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and have no problem taking charge. I also thrive in a social environment.

  3. I haven't taken any of these tests but I may if they are free. I always find it interesting when someone says a test is spot on because for me things rarely are. Thanks for sharing the links I will definitely be checking them out!

  7. Nope, not taking a test. I know I am crazy,lol
I think it interesting, but also it is a moment of your life circumstances which do not include all of the factors which matter to determine your abilities in life.
So, as long as there isn't a complete one, I will not test myself ;)

  8. I just took this test and it says I am an ISFJ.

    "ISFJ strengths
ISFJs are patient individuals who apply common sense and experience to solving problems for other people. They are responsible, loyal and traditional, enjoying serving the needs of others and providing practical help.

    Potential development points for ISFJs
ISFJ people may be overly cautious, and might not consider the logical consequences of their decisions. They can lack assertiveness, and risk basing their decisions on what they think will please others."

I don't think that really describes me at all...I'm generally not patient or overly cautious! LOL

  9. I just took the test. It noted that I was a ISFJ. I have taken many of these over the years and have found that I bounce between profiles. I think it just depends on where I am in life. It's always interesting, though!

  10. This sounds fascinating! I'm headed over there right now to take the test myself :)

  11. I was ENTP! How fun! I haven't taken one before, so thanks for sharing. The design of your blog is great!

  12. I don't take those tests but I think I will now. I feel that I am who I am and I don't really think I will change at this time in my life so I don't need a test to tell me how I feel. I love life and enjoy living it... that is good enough for me right now.

  13. It sounds interesting. I have not taken one before.

  14. I've taken a number of personality tests for my work. I'm an ENTJ. I seriously don't know how to follow. I lead everyone and everything, even to a point where I overwhelm self.

  15. I remember taking this awhile back, and I'm sure it hasn't changed...I think I am an ISFJ (introvert). It's also interesting that my husband is the exact opposite ENTP (extrovert). Guess that's why things work!

  16. I came out as an ESFJ, what a great test, thank you for sharing!!! I always find these types of things interesting to see how closely they align to myself.

  17. I have not ever taken a test, but was discussing this online with a friend just today!! now I really must go find out, though I think I will be a ENTJ, it will be interesting to see for sure:-)

  18. I have taken various forms of these tests over the years. This one says I am an INFJ and that is pretty accurate.

  19. I have taken the personality test before and was an INFJ. This time I was an ESFJ with strong emphasis on the FJ. When I took it in the workplace, it was early in my career. Now that I am a SAHM, no wonder I am more extroverted. LOL!

  20. Thanks for sharing! I think the test made me understand myself a little bit more. I've also discovered how my husband and I are opposites in most of the answers! Opposites do attract! haha :)

  22. I took a personality test when I was in high school, and I updated it in my early 20's. I haven't taken one recently, but I generally have myself figured out. I go with the old way of thinking--sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, and melancholy. Basically, I am somewhat of an introvert with extrovert leanings. I am a leader, a detailed person with a lot of creativity, and I struggle with perfectionism in myself. I have very high standards for myself, and I often can't attain them. I want to be challenged, and although I may not appear to be organized on the outside, my brain has files one could never imagine. If we go with the Type A, Type B personality, I am certainly not Type A, but I can't say I'm Type B either. I accomplish goals, but I am not constantly busy like my daughter is.

  23. I don't remember my whole profile, but I'm an introvert. Fun stuff.

  24. It says I am an ISFJ. It does fit me pretty well. I enjoy being a common sense, loyal, responsible person! I do wish I could be more outgoing though. Thanks for the idea!

  25. I took those colored tests in school that are supposed to tell you what you are. I'll have to look at this and see what it comes out as. Thanks for sharing!

  26. I love these things. I take them all the time, but they never seem to fit me on the dot.

  27. I couldn't help but try it out! I am an INTJ with strong inclination towards I and N. Which is quite true. Thank you for this.

  30. I am not a fan of personality tests. I know from experience that life and people are constantly changing. I can almost guarantee that your outcome today will be different ten or 20 years from now. Still it is fun, so enjoy!

  31. I am also an executive! Fits well with my job and lifestyle, so I am glad that I am on the right track!

  32. I love taking personality tests. It's funny how so many people see themselves as one thing, but are actually another. I used to think I was an extrovert, but as I've gotten older, I see that I am the exact opposite. These are always so enlightening!

  33. I have taken many personality tests and at 99% of the time, it wasn't what I expected. Am I going in the wrong direction? Was all that I remember after getting my results. LOL

  34. Hmmm...very interesting. I am going to have to figure out if I am easily pegged by this personality test. Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks for sharing the links!

  35. INFJ - Ok so I couldn't help giving it a whirl ;-) It has been a long time since I last took the test so I can't remember what I was back then. I'd love for my husband to take this too!

That was fun, thanks for sharing

  36. I have always loved anything to do with stuff like this. My chosen career field in high school was Psychology-- although I didn't follow through with it. BUT I still enjoy reading and learning everything about it!

I am an ENFP personality type!

ENFPs often have strong, if sometimes surprising, values and viewpoints. They tend to try to use their social skills and contacts to persuade others gently (though enthusiastically) of the rightness of these views; this sometimes results in the ENFP neglecting their nearest and dearest while caught up their efforts to change the world.

ENFPs can be the warmest, kindest, and most sympathetic of mates; affectionate, demonstrative, and spontaneous. Many in relationships with an ENFP literally say, "They light up my life." But there is usually a trade-off: the partner must be willing to deal with the practical and financial aspects of the relationship, and the ENFP must be allowed the freedom to follow their latest path, whatever that entails.

  37. Hi! I have not taken a personality test since high school, but this post has definitely peaked my interest. There is nothing like evaluating yourself. Nice Post!

  38. How interesting! I've never taken a test like this! I got INFJ. I didn't get a chance to read it all, but the first snippet. Sounds pretty right! I love that it says INFJ's find their niche in writing because I definitely find that to be true! :)

  39. Oh, I love personality tests! I can never remember what my Myers-Briggs is, and I know it's varied based on when I've taken it. Today it told me ENFJ - I definitely am right on the border of an E/I though - I tend to call myself an outgoing introvert.

I've recently quit my corporate job and branched out as a freelancer - this is a great reminder that digging into how personality types affect my work would probably be a good thing for me to do, so thanks!

  40. I love personality tests! I'm always looking for ways to better myself and knowing yourself can really help with that. I took the test you recommended and I'm a ISFJ. I felt it described me well!

  41. I love to take personality tests, too! I'm going to take this one to see what it says about me. I believe that the ENTJ type descibes me as well, as I'm always wanting to take charge and have great leadership skills.
