Yesterday, I was invited to a birthday tea by Christian's mother for Andrea's birthday (Andrea is Christian's older sister)! We went to the Serenity Tea Room in Frederick, Maryland to celebrate! Believe it or not, I have never been to a tea room before! Crazy, I know! I loved every second of it! It was so fun and relaxing! The Serenity Tea Room was absolutely adorable and had wonderful, hospitable service!
We had the Traditional Afternoon Tea which included an assortment of dainty tea sandwiches that were absolutely delicious, scones, delicate tea cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and endless pots of hot tea, of course! The presentation of everything was so elegant!
How amazing does all this food look!?!
The Serenity Tea Room even had options for gluten-free diets! It was perfect for our trio! There was an assortment of tea sandwiches on the bottom plate which included egg salad and chives (my personal favorite), chicken salad and cashews, cucumber sandwiches, and mini pitas filled with avocado and tomato (another favorite!)!
The middle plate held a fresh strawberry scone and a raisin scone and other tea breads.
The top plate held tea cookies and lovely desserts. There were mini fruit pies, freshly chocolate covered strawberries, and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies! YUM!
The Serenity Tea Room offers a wide variety of teas! They have 65 flavors of fine loose leaf teas! WOW! There were so many options it was hard to chose! For my first pot of tea I tried the Indian Spice Chai tea with a little bit of milk. I love chai teas and this one did not disapoint! It was superb! My second pot of tea was caramel. I really enjoyed this tea with its rich vanilla and butterscotch undertones. It reminded me a lot of the Christmas season. Definitely a great holiday tea!
Christian's mom, Chris, his older sister, Andrea, and I enjoyed our tea and experience at the Serenity Tea Room very much! I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend my afternoon with these lovely ladies and get to know Andrea better!
Of course the afternoon would not have been complete without a ladylike outfit!
