Fitness Friday: Favorite Workout Videos

Health and fitness have always been important to me. In high school I learned running wasn't my thing when I tried to join the track and field team. Instead, I was involved in the marching band as a majorette which gave me pretty stellar arms and from there I also began taking classes in ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. Now that I am in college and not involved in extracurriculars that are as physical, I keep in shape through some of my favorite workout videos and going on walks around campus. I love workout videos because they give you instruction on which moves to do when and the instructors are usually motivating and let you know how many reps to do.

My all-time favorite workouts come from Beachbody. I love Tony Horton's P90X program and Chalene Johnson's ChaLEAN Extreme program. These workouts are intense and you see results quick and are well worth the investment. Another great thing about Beachbody programs is that you can connect with a Beachbody Coach to keep you motivated. These coaches often set up monthly Facebook groups where you focus completely on your personal health and fitness for one month and are held accountable to the rest of the group. My coach, Jessie, is incredibly inspiring and so motivating and keeps me on track to win the swimsuit award at my next pageant competition!

On my days off from the Beachbody programs, I still stay active. Sometimes I'll do workout videos found on Youtube!

My favorite Youtube workout videos come from Cassey Ho, creator of Blogilates, a fun blog with healthy cooking tips and workouts! Cassey keeps her viewers working hard through creating workouts based off of pop songs! She also put together a lot of different programs you can follow such as the Victoria's Secret Series, Bikini Blaster Series, HIITilates Series among others!   1. I definitely need to do some workout videos! My brother has been doing P90X but I'm just honestly not sure I could handle it yet...but I never know until I try! I really love Zumba too.

  2. Haha, you know I have trouble with working out sometimes! I've gotten into running... I recommend using the Couch to 5K app. It beeps when you start running and beeps when you get to start walking. It's great!

  3. I'm a lover of P90x too, but I live for I mix cardio with their 12 min workouts and I always feel great after them. You should definitely check them out if you love the workout videos. The internet definitely makes working out less boring with everything you can choose from!
