Winter Layers

Blue Button Up: Hand-me-Down
Sweater: Old
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Urbanog.com
Necklace: Old

Wore this to run some errands in. I like how the necklace jazzes up an otherwise simple and comfortable outfit!

The first few days of class are always so awkward. The professors go over their syllabus, force the students to do cheesy introductions, and attempt to squeeze in a quick lesson. It seems every first class of the semester, I always embarrass myself, not on purpose, I'm just that awkward quiet student.

Anyways, the professor for my Short Story class had us write up a paragraph about ourselves that captures our "essence" without actually stating facts. Uh...what?!
Anyways, as all the English majors quickly got to work, I just sat there and tried to figure out what she's asking me to do. I eventually scribbled something down and then the professor calls me out, "Ashliegh, you look uncomfortable in this class. You have a deer-in-headlights look in your eyes." The whole class laughs (I know many of my fellow colleagues). Oy.

Also, make sure to check out Ada's blog, Elegance Personified! She chose one of my looks from last week to be featured on her recent Week's Best Looks post! Thank you so much for featuring me, Ada!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

With Love,
Ashliegh

  1. Great idea with the necklace. I have a rather chunky silver metal flower necklace, that I've never worn - because I don't know how to wear it ( LoL ) .. but I'll give this look a try with the necklace.

    1. I bought this necklace for a wedding I was going to and it worked perfectly with the v-neck dress I was wearing, but I haven't been able to wear it too much since. It's definitely a piece that needs a bit more creativity than most.

  7. I love that bold necklace oer the chambray button-down with the chunky white sweater. This look very much reminds me of Jenna's look I featured last Sunday as one of the Best. I knew you two had more in common than college and your similar age. ;-)

Thanks for the shot-out as well and YOU ARE WELCOME!!

  8. I love that look! I have a similar necklace that I wear mostly with plain high neck tops (crewneck or turtleneck); I'll have to try it with a button-down now too.

Your description of class definitely took me back. I was the awkward girl too! I don't know why some teachers/professors don't see that calling on shy or uncomfortable people just makes it worse. And whenever professors wanted to do introductions or those stupid "icebreaker games" at the beginning of the semester, I pretty much wanted to crawl under my desk. Good news, though...if you embarrass yourself, you won't ever see most of those people again!

    1. Hahaha, that is true with never having to see most of the people after graduation! I'm so glad that I'm not alone as an awkward-in-class girl! haha

  9. That is my favorite way to winter layer! But my favorite layering piece is the necklace! What a fun way to add some glam to an outfit!
